Steps to Restart iPhone

  1. Press & hold the sleep/wake button for 5 seconds.
  2. Power Off slider will appear on the screen, slide to turn off your iPhone.
  3. Now, wait for a few seconds.
  4. Press & hold the sleep/wake button again till the Apple logo arrives.
  5. Now, wait for a few seconds.

What generation of iPhone are you using?
iPhone 3GS or 4?

If, yes

  1. Press & hold the sleep/wake button till the red Power Off slide appears. (wait few seconds)
  2. Now, don’t drag the red slider to turn off. Wait and,
  3. Press & hold the Home button for 10 seconds.
