To effectively catch, you certainly need to know a couple of things about fishing. This article will talk about fishing reels, fisherman connections, and flexible fishing methods, so stay tuned and let’s dive in!
The success of bottom fishing depends on how well you lure the fish to the bait. For the fish to gather at one point, it is necessary to bait them.
But if the bait spreads over a large area, the fish will disperse under it and will have to wait a long time for them to find the bait lying far away on the bottom.
Therefore, one of the postulates of bottom fishing says that it is necessary to form a bait spot on the bottom, the dimensions of which do not exceed one square meter.
Feeder Preston Distance When fishing with the bottom, the bait is cast with different types of feeders.
To form a compact “mat” of bait on the bottom at the chosen location, a so-called transport feeder is first used, in which the bait is thrown in large portions (up to 100 g).
Typically, 5-10 feeders are immersed, the contents of which are shaken abruptly on the bottom without waiting to be washed away by the water.
To prevent the bait from spreading widely, the feeder must sink to the same place each time.
However, it is quite difficult to calculate the throwing force of the feeder uniformly, so the following method is used.
The first time the bait is cast, the net wrapped around the reel drum is locked – when the bait sinks to the bottom, it is inserted under the reel.
Then, the next time the feeder is thrown, a section of the net of the same length will unwind from the drum, and the bait will sink at an equal distance from the shore each time.
The only thing left for the angler is to try to hit the same point. But this effective method has one weakness.
To prevent the feeder from falling too close to the water, the angler usually throws the feeder with more force than is needed to unwind the fixed section of the net, so the line is subjected to considerable loads.
It does not withstand the normal load and is missing at the locking point, I., at the earring.
In addition, the line is cushioned each time you throw the feeder harder than you need to, and the portion of the bait falls closer than it should during the thump.
Third, if a large fish is caught and you have to bother with it, you have to open the line using a reel clean unwind mechanism.
If the angler has not marked the net at the point where it was fixed in the earring with a special waterproof marker, it is practically impossible to restore the original position of the net, which means that it will not be possible to return the bait to the same point and reshape the bait.
Fishing Reels Wires
Is it possible to secure the wire in another way, and most importantly, so that it is not fatally stuck in the ear of the wire drum?
There is an option, but you will need to use handy tools – sharp scissors and an elastic shock absorber used for float rods without reels.
They come in a variety of thicknesses, but the most preferred are the 3-5 numbers.
The cord is fastened with a shock absorber very simply – it will not take much time: the first time the feeder is inserted, the line is usually inserted under the earring, and then one end of the 10-15 cm long shock absorber section is tied and clamped on it.
The section of the shock absorber remaining when knitting the knot is cut to keep a tip of 2-3 mm. The other end is inserted under the earring of the net and is also shortened slightly.
Now, every time you attach the bait, the elastic connection between the purse and the earring will dampen the purge overload caused by the heavily thrown feeder. If necessary (when big fish get stuck), you can open the shock absorber, but it will always remain attached to the purse in the same place. It would help if you threw the feeder you will never lose.
